Wendy Rector Riddell began her riding career at the age of 2, on her pony Squirrel. With the careful guidance of her mother, Wendy excelled as a young girl in pony club, the hunter ring, and as a three day event rider but ultimately her passion was Dressage.

She qualified for and competed at the North American Young Rider Championships five times on three different horses, placing first in the Team test, winning the bronze medal, and placing seventh individually. Subsequent to her young rider career, she received the Asmis Grant from the USDF to train abroad and spent a year as a working student with Johann Hinnemann. At Hinnemann's, she met Canadian Olympic rider Gina Smith who regularly comes for clinics.
She rode her first Grand Prix at the age of eighteen, and has competed successfully at Grand Prix on four different horses. She has her USDF bronze, silver, and gold medals. Most recently, she trained "Fashion" from a three year old to Grand Prix, ultimately winning the Region 5 Intermediare II, Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle Championships. "Fashion" was also eleventh in the nation at Intermediare II. Wendy is currently riding "Barrister," an extremely talented Dutch Warmblood for whom she has high expectations. Already, "Barrister" was Champion at the Arizona Futurity, Reserve Champion at the California Futurity, won the Region 5 Training Level Championships, and was Reserve Champion at First Level. He was subsequently the Regional Champion at third level, and Reserve at the Regional Championships at second level. He is beginning his FEI career. She has had numerous wins on other young horses as well.

When she is not riding, Wendy works as an Attorney and is a partner in the law firm, Berry & Damore, LLC, and takes care of her two daughters, Kenzie and Kali.  She has also been published in Dressage Today.
